Eleni has been a part of the Azur family since its inception in April, 2023, and prior ran the wine program at Bistro a Vin — now our Azur Private Event space.

Hailing from Ithaca, New York at the heart of the Finger Lakes wine region, Eleni has long had a passion for wine making and hospitality.

After graduating Cornell University in 2018, where she first became inspired in her wine career after taking Cornell’s world-renowned wine classes, she traveled and worked with wineries in Marlborough, New Zealand and Rheinhessen, Germany.

Upon her arrival in Charleston, South Carolina in the Spring of 2021, she began holding weekly Wine Tastings at Bistro a Vin, introducing wines from around the world to the local Charleston community and visitors alike. She continues weekly tastings with “Wine Wednesdays” at Azur.

Eleni additionally started her own wine education and consulting business, “Wine and Talk About It,” in Fall of 2022, through which she gives private and corporate-catering wine classes, and curates wine lists and retail wine selections for local businesses.

In the Summer of 2023 Eleni joined the Sommelier team at MINA Group’s brand new Charleston restaurant, Sorelle, where she can be found guiding guests through Sorelle’s exceptional and extensive Italian-focused wine list.
